Brink Tops UK Games Chart despite disappointing reviews

By Chris Cook - May 16, 2011

For those of you that were looking forward to the game Brink, you would have been disappointed with the review round up we brought you last week. It seems that a lot of reputable game critics were not impressed with the much hyped game.

Despite these low scoring reviews it appears gamers that were interested in buying Brink were undeterred and went out and bought it anyway. It enters the UK games chart for all formats at number one.

The game that makes way for the shooter is Zumba Fitness, which continues to sell well and holds on to the number three spot. Previous top-spot holder Portal 2, which was number one for two weeks before that, slips to fourth.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean was the second highest selling game last week and debuts in the chart at number two. Check out the full UK chart at CVG where you will find that other popular games such as FIFA 2011 and Call of Duty: Black Ops still remain in the top ten.

I would give it a 5.5/10. It's a great game. Just needs alot of work. Like, lot's of the features to the game were proubuly something that most game developers wouldn't think of. It has great character customization. Though there could be a bit more weapons. It needs matchmaking, system link and splitscreen. Also, maybe the ability to set your own objectives on your map. The graphics could've been better though come on the S.M.A.R.T. was cool right? The ability to move across thing with ease? People who think it fails need to look at it differently. Hopefully they might be able to make it over again and add new features.

so what if there arnt too many missions and you keep doing them again i mean cmon what do you do on COD ect. run around aimlessly killing each other generally on the same map everytime. this game is great to play the freerunning works brilliantly and the weapon customisation is just as good as every other game if not better, also being able to use different weapon sets for you body type is genius you dont just have everyone who has had the game for more than a few days running around with miniguns and grenade launchers. charecter customization i also really good and the class specific powers can be really usefull but just because you have spent all your spec points in say the medic tree that doesent meen that you have to always stay medic you can change to get the job done. if i was to rate this game it would deafinately get a 9/10
