Nokia E6 vs. Blackberry Bold 9900: Face-Off

By Jamie Pert - May 11, 2011

Blackberry and Nokia were reviewed against each other earlier this week on Knowyourmobile and the two contenders facing each other were the Nokia E6 and Blackberry Bold 9900. We looked at their analysis and summarized it below for you, however you can find the full report here.

The Bold 9900 was handed the style award for those who are style conscious, however they did say that there was not a lot in it in terms of build between the two. In terms of display there is not a lot in it, the Bold 9900 has a 2.8-inch screen, whilst the E6 has a 2.46-inch display, both models feature resolution of 640 x 480 and look great, however neither outdoes the other.

The Nokia wins the prizes for the camera, by beating BlackBerry with a whole 3 Megapixel difference in camera quality (the 9900 has a 5 megapixel sensor, whilst the E6 has an 8 megapixel sensor), also the E6 was deemed better than the Blackberry for video conferencing. When it came to software KnowYourMobile preferred RIM’s BlackBerry OS to Nokia’s Symbian platform, this is probably the deciding factor in the face-off.

The 9900’s processing power also came out on top, the difference was staggering thanks to the 1.2GHz process and 768MB of RAM, this combined with BlackBerry OS resulted in a great all-round performance, much better than the E6’s 600MHz CPU, dedicated GPU and 256MB of RAM. Overall, Knowyourmobile handed the award to the Blackberry model for being everything the RIM devotee could ask for.

Personally i think that Nokia and b.berry must not be compare, it's not design for the same market I mean I'm a b.berry user since a while , so when I want to change one of my phone the only other phonE that I may consider is the iphone but not a nokia of samsum etc etc . They are surely good phone but not to be place in the same basket .

This was nothing more than a spec-sheet face-off.
