Worcle: New iOS Word Puzzle Game with a Twist

By Tina Chubb - May 10, 2011

We’ve heard about quite a few new word puzzle games coming onto the Apple App Store over the past few months including WordZAG, which was described on the itunes.apple.com website as Sudoku meets Tetris but with words. Now we have news of another new word puzzle game called ‘Worcle.’

As noted over on ipad-apps-review-online.com, the Worcle game – which is both designed and developed by Lightwood Games – is an original word puzzle game, but with a twist. The aim of the game is to shoot balls into a circle to create words. Creating words with 3 or more letters will clear the balls.

However, players do have to watch out for the swirling vortex!! If the circle fills up, players will get sucked in and it’s game over. The Worcle game comes with a couple of different modes including Strategy Mode, which offers gamers a steady pace and Times Mode, which requires some quick thinking.

The game also includes Apple’s Game Center, which enables players to compete against their friends. Users will also be rewarded with achievements for reaching certain milestones, for creating long or high scoring words and even for discovering ways to find several words with just one move.

As noted over on the itunes.apple.com website, the Worcle app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, but does require the user to be running iOS 3.0 or later. Do you enjoy playing word puzzle games?
