Dell Venue Pro Hits AT&T, Reasonable Price Considering Specs

By Jamie Pert - May 7, 2011

If you are due an upgrade on AT&T and do not want to spend too much on your next smartphone we may have the perfect solution for you, this is the Dell Venue Pro.

If you check out Dell’s Venue Pro website you will see that it is now available for AT&T, it costs $99.99 when you agree a two-year deal, which is the same as the T-Mobile pricing.

To us the price sounds very reasonable, with a 4.1-inch AMOLED display, a 1GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.1 it is well-worth the price tag, perhaps it will help Windows Phone 7 establish itself as a formidable mobile OS.

Recently Cnet’s Damien McFerran reviewed the Venue Pro, the biggest problem seemed to be its size, but on the whole there seemed to be no major problems in terms of performance and features. Cnet scored the handset 3.5 stars out of 5 and some of the problems mentioned could easily be rectified via a software update.

We would like to hear whether you are considering the Dell Venue Pro, do you think the large design will put you off? Let us know in the comment section below

I'm choppin' at the bits to get my hand on it. Currently eligible for an upgrade with ATT. my opinion…as a technology pro with over 15 years in electronics and technology support industry, I've personally dealt with 1000s when it comes to smart phones/PDAs. This device (both HW + OS) raises the bar in a new era in usability + form+ UI design.

BTW looks like $99 (-$350 discount) price target is only for new line activations with 2 year contracts. Upgrades (even with 2 years) get a discount of only -$250, hence $199 for the base (8GB) model.
