Motorola Atrix 4G 4.1.83 Update, Full List of Changes

By Jamie Pert - May 4, 2011

In late March AT&T and Motorola rolled out an update for the Motorola Atrix 4G, now we can confirm that another new update has been rolled out which brings the smartphone to firmware version 4.1.83.

You can see a full list of changes along with download and install instructions on Motorola’s website, to be honest installation should be simple as you should receive a notification telling you an update is available, then all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. If you do not receive a notification simply go to settings, about phone, system updates here you can check for updates.

Once you have installed the update you may notice increased data speeds and a more stable connection, less screen freezes, an improved Happenings Widget, better call functionality, better email notifications and a few less interesting changes which affect Skype, Yahoo! Mail and international roaming.

There are probably a lot of less noticeable improvements which have been made to make the Atrix 4G more secure and stable, let us know if you have noticed any minor changes yourself in the comments section below.

update installed smoothly, but like andy my phone took substantially longer to reboot. And for some reason, my battery seems to be lasting up a lot longer since the update? Is this possible or is it just me?

Easy update – received the msg, connected to wifi, and the update finished within 5 minutes or so. Haven't been able to test out skype yet but I'm really going this helps..
