HTC EVO View 4G: Android Honeycomb 3.0 Release on Launch, Sprint says Yes

By Alan Ng - Apr 6, 2011

We have yet more news on the Android 3.0 Honeycomb release saga in relation to the upcoming HTC EVO View 4G or HTC Flyer tablet, and it’s good news. We previously told you that the device will be shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but now you may be in for a surprise.

That’s because Sprint, who has the exclusive rights to the HTC EVO View 4G in the US, has just updated their website online, to list ‘Android 3.0’ as one of the main features of the device along with other specs, as reported from Phandroid.

It’s unsure whether the information is just a typo, but it definitely hasn’t been removed by the carrier yet – you can view it on their website here. Considering that much debate was brewing about this device shipping with Gingerberad and how much of a disappointment it was, it’s excellent news and a potential deal changer if it does indeed ship with Honeycomb.

Then it puts it right into the frame up against the iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, LG G-Slate and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – but that 1.5Ghz single-core processor spec may still be a potential staller for you.

For now though, bask in the joy that this could be shipping with Honeycomb this Summer – will you be getting one?
