Windows Phone 7: NoDo Update Live – Happy after Download?

By Alan Ng - Mar 23, 2011

We recently informed you that the much talked about NoDo update for Windows Phone 7 handsets had been leaked online over at XDA Developers Forums for users to attempt to download if they wished. Now there is no need though, as we’re hearing Microsoft has just started the rollout process.

As most of you should be aware, the NoDo codename is essentially just a fancy name for the highly anticipated copy and paste update, and you’ll be pleased to know that there doesn’t appear to be any update problems that previously troubled WP7 users after Microsoft’s first software update – everything ok Omnia 7 users?

Other new additions in the NoDo update include a speed boost for games and applications, a much better WiFi performance, camera improvements, tweak to Facebook, better Marketplace search and also improvements to audio quality, as reported from Engadget.

As detailed on the official WP7 website, the update is now rolling out – have you got it yet? Don’t worry if you haven’t received the download, as the rollout process is likely to last a few weeks, especially given Microsoft’s track record. For those of you who already have the NoDo update, let us know your thoughts on it. Are you happy with the update or not?

    I am writing from India.
Dell Venue Pro had copy and paste right out-of-the-box since I purchased it last month.
Successfully updated through Zune after receiving update notification.
Has been a smooth ride so far.

All I know is that it if this update does not fix the well known and documented bluetooth issues on the Samsung, I will be giving up on WP7 all together.

What Radio version do you have, this is caused by the first stock having an old radio. A new radio shoudl be included.. i updated mine using the firmware from samfirmware and my version no is 2424.10.11.1

Hmm… strange. I updated a few days back and got choppy bloothuth playback as a result. My radio is version is 2424.11.1.1. The phone was working absolutely perfectly before the update…

Did you do any hard-resets or any other reset after the update?
