Track Radiation Exposure With Passport Pro

By Gary Johnson - Mar 18, 2011

There are many ways radiation can enter the body, CAT scans, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine exams, and X-rays can all cause ionizing radiation to be delivered to the body which can lead to cancer. An application called Radiation Passport Pro can help educate users about the risks.

Radiation Passport Pro 2.1 is available for owners of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Recent estimates have found that around 1.5 to 2% of all cancers in the US are caused by radiation from CT scans. The application will educate users about the risks when undergoing medical imaging exams that are carried out by dentists and physicians.

The associated risks numbers are based on published on scientific journal papers, but are an estimate in each case. Other features include unlimited user support; other common risks are compared, total radiation exposure calculation, and much more.

Radiation Passport Pro 2.1 is available worldwide on the App Store for $9.99/£5.99. iOS 3.1.3 or later required.
