Mortal Kombat (MK9): New ‘Challenge Tower’ Mode Includes Zombies

By Tina Chubb - Mar 3, 2011

The Mortal Kombat 2011 (MK9) game has been in the spotlight quite a bit recently what with the title being banned in Australia, but the latest news has to be the most interesting of it all. If you thought you could escape the zombie-craze with the upcoming Mortal Kombat game, you better think again!!

According to a recent article over on website by Delriach, NetherRealm Studios has just revealed a brand new mode called “Challenge Tower,” which as you guessed it includes zombies. The new mode provides players with a total of 300 unique challenges to complete.

The developer has also provided a video (which we have embedded below this post), in which they explain a little more about the new mode. As you can see in the video, the challenges range from fighting with no arms and grenade tossing, to Stryker and Johnny Cage having to fight off a horde of zombies.

There’s also a new addition that is referred to as “test your luck,” which is said to expand on the “Test your might” mini-games that the MK series is known for. In the “test your luck” mode, a slot machine randomly selects different modifiers to make your fights a little more interesting.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think of the new mode. Are you looking forward to buying the Mortal Kombat 2011 game?
