Motorstorm: Apocalypse Beta on PS3 – Did you get a Code?

By Alan Ng - Mar 2, 2011

You probably had no idea this was happening, but we can confirm that a secret closed beta is now underway for MotorStorm: Apocalypse. Only a select number of users have been invited to the event, so we want to know if you have been included.

Sadly, we haven’t – that’s probably since this is the first time we’ve heard about the beta as well. Sony are obviously keen to stress test the online multiplayer of the game before the game goes on sale on March 12th in the US, March 16th in the UK.

The million dollar question is though – did you get into this beta? If so, we’d love to hear your initial impressions of the game. Is multiplayer a big improvement from Pacific Rift or is it a game you’re planning to avoid come launch time?

Check out this screenshot we’ve found over at CVG, it proves that the beta is ongoing as we speak. Players will be able to play at any time they wish, but it seems as if Sony are also holding special events on certain nights to really give the servers a pounding.

For those of you who didn’t get into the beta, the good news is that a demo is meant to be on the way soon, although there isn’t long at all until the game releases.

I got an email invite code. It was sent to me from Gamestop which I thought to be odd. If you like the previous Moto Storm games you will like this one. 🙂 I will just mention one multiplayer future I initially thought to be stupid which is split screen multiplayer, but in hindsight and second thought I think its a good idea. Let's say I want to play with one player (my best on-line bud). Well the previous Moto Storm games just like this one have such large and multiple path courses you will not see them again after the start of the race. The split screen feature offers me the chance to LMAO when I bust/trigger an explosion of any other course changing event that catches my bud off guard.
