Apple iPad 2 Unimpressive – Wait for iPad 3?

We have yet more news on a possible third Apple iPad tablet to release before the end of the year, as a fresh report claims that the iPad 3 will be the device to get more excited about, not the imminent iPad 2.

The news has apparently come from an Apple employee, who has slipped some naughty details to Cult of Mac. The employee states that it’s actually the iPad 3 which will be the model worth buying, seemingly suggesting that the iPad 2 is actually just a minor revision of the current model, which isn’t the first time such claims have been made.

Here is what the Apple staffer told Cult of Mac: “For the iPad 2 don’t get your hopes up too high. That’s all I’m going to say. They’ve had a number of problems along the way, and the third-generation iPad is the one to make a song and a dance about.”

Whether we should believe he or she is another thing though. Considering that this isn’t the first time that we’ve heard talk about the iPad 3 being the true next generation iPad, maybe we should pay more attention to the quote above. Then again, we still believe that the device Apple unveils at their iPad event will be significantly better than the current iPad.

What are your thoughts on this? We’ll update you when we hear more.
