We’ve already brought you details and a trailer for the upcoming Ridge Racer 3D game, which is due to launch alongside the much-awaited Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming system, and now it appears that Namco Bandai Games has just announced another title in the series.

According to a recent article by Wesley Yin-Poole over on the eurogamer.net website, Namco has recently revealed its plans to release the Ridge Racer Unbounded game, which will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows at some point next year.

The publisher may not have revealed any more details about the upcoming racing game – which is currently in development at Bugbear Entertainment – at this stage, but they have released a new trailer that gives us a little insight as to what the Ridge Racer Unbounded title is all about.

Judging by the trailer (seen here), the new game appears to have a bit of a “Need for Speed” vibe to it, but with a little bit of open-world destruction added. As Wesley notes, the trailer shows a woman getting out of one car and entering another, only to drive straight into a taxi and take off.

Ever since the trailer surfaced online, fans of the Ridge Racer series have been expressing their disappointment at the upcoming reboot. In fact, according to a recent microsoft.nyleveia.com article, the fans really don’t seem happy at all. One commenter even went as far as saying the game looks awful.

You can read a few of the negative comments via the Microsoft.nyleveia.com website. What do you guys think of the new Ridge Racer Unbounded game judging by the trailer?
