2011 MacBook Pro Update, Firmware Download and Changes

Apple’s new MacBook Pro models have been out for just over two months which has given consumers a chance to thoroughly test them out, we can now confirm that a firmware update has been released by Apple to squash some problems / imperfections.

You can download the new firmware update here or via Software Update, once installed you should have improved graphics stability, better external display support / 3D performance and enhanced Thunderbolt device support.

Apple has called this update software update 1.4, it is roughly 130MB in size and to install this you must have Mac OS X 10.6.7 1.4 installed. Also an EFI update has also been rolled out, you can also install this update via software update, check out Engadgetfor more information, it seems to fix a Turbo Boost-related problem which was caused by Boot Camp.
