The 2011 Ford Edge was expected to be released some time in June, but the Ford website release date still says “Coming Summer 2010”, so we still do not know. Looking at the design of this Range Rover wannabe it does not look that different to the current version — that’s until you look under the hood and the interior.
The Car Connection points out that the outside is more aggressive, but still offers a sensible a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which his expected to deliver 27MPG. There are two larger engines, a 3.5-liter V-6 and a 3.7-liter V-6.
The base price for the 2011 Ford Edge is just over $27,000 and increases to $35,000. The interior of the outgoing model was considered cheap and plastically, thankfully the Blue Oval has realized this and has now made necessary improvements to give it a more up market look and feel.
When Ford release the new 2011 Edge it will be in direct competition with the Acura MDX, Audi Q5 and the Lexus RX350. Although Left Lane News reports that Ford has a quieter model.
