BlackBerry Playbook: Price and Storage Confirmed?

By Alan Ng - Nov 25, 2010

A lot of potential BlackBerry Playbook buyers have been sweating over the mystery surrounding the price point of the upcoming tablet, but one source is claiming to have prices and the storage capacities nailed down.

As reported from BGR, the information has surfaced from Mobility Insider, as they are claiming to be the first website to obtain solid information regarding the Playbook pricing.

According to them, the device will come in three storage capacities, either 8GB, 16GB or 32GB. The cheapest model will be available for $399, while the 16GB will cost $499 and the largest 32GB model will set you back $599.

Considering that prices for the Samsung Galaxy Tab are around $500-600, that is a pretty good deal for the 8GB you have to say – if the information is legit of course.

All prices relate to the WiFi Playbook model, and data will be available via tethering with BlackBerry smartphones – what are your thoughts on this concept? Nothing is confirmed yet, but Mobility Insider seem to be pretty sure about it. We’ll bring you further updates as we get it.

K frothing at the mouth for this any ideas on a release date in 1st qtr?

  • I’m not really too impressed with 8GB-put 16GB in my Torch.Would put 32GB in my Playbook given the multiple high storage uses it will have-games,music.Also convinced model I’ll be buying will have to have 3G.Big initial capital outlay but fewer compromises and more use you get out of the device.
