Gran Turismo 5 X1 Prototype Specs And Performance Data

By Peter Chubb - Nov 12, 2010

On October 28th we told you how Red Bull had been working with Polyphony Digital to work on the X1 Prototype for Gran Turismo 5. This new fantasy car will be one car that you will want to get your hands on in the new game, and you will know why when you read the specs and performance data.

GT5 is said to be available now, instead of November 24th, which is when we assumed it was out. The Red Bull X1 Prototype is a car that has been designed without the constraints that tie down a modern F1 car, so is seen as a technical achievement.

The weight of the car is just 545kg or 615kg with fuel. The engine used to power this beast is a 3000cc V6 Twin Turbo powerplant, which produces 1483hp. The performance figures below will certainly shock you; try to keep your mouth closed.

0-60mph in 1.4 seconds, 0-120mph in 2.8 seconds and 0-200mph in 6.1 seconds. The car has a top speed of more than 280mph and will pull 8.25G. Is this the best Gran Turismo car yet? For more details visit Electronic Theatre.
