Phone Upgrade Due? Verizon iPhone 4 / 5 Wait Is Common

By Daniel Chubb - Nov 4, 2010

The idea of a Verizon iPhone 4 or 5 has been on the minds of phone buyers for a while now, and hearing rumors of a dual mode – GSM and CDMA – iPhone 5 only excites those wanted an iPhone for Verizon Wireless.

We know how dedicated Apple fans are, you only need to look at our poll asking if you would wait for a White iPhone 4, and 68% – 1,174 Votes – said they are prepared to wait for just a difference in color, which should not be as complicated as a Verizon model.

We have been getting emails and feedback from our readers that have their phones due for an upgrade soon, and this is becoming common on a weekly basis now. In some cases whole families have had upgrades due and are waiting for an iPhone from Verizon.

Some people that have switched love their new device – Motorola Droid is one popular alternative – but have so many Apple devices in their home, which means they find a need for another Apple phone. AT&T is just not an option for some people, and they will also switch when a Verizon device releases.

Do you have a phone upgrade due? Will you be playing the Verizon iPhone wait game? Recent news suggests it may be a shorter wait than you think.

My upgrade is in December of this year…my actual Verizon phone broke about 2 months ago and they said I could upgrade early, but I took a friends old phone instead so hold off and wait for the Verizon iPhone. I thought about getting a Droid…maybe with a 1 year contract…that way if the iPhone came out after I upgraded I'd only have to wait until the end of 2011 for my next upgrade and jump on the iPhone. We'll see how it all plays out…

I upgraded from a Dare to a dInc in March – I had given up on the ViPhone. My daughter also has a Dare and if Verizon gets an iPhone, I'll wait to be sure it isn't a brick and then use her upgrade (due last month) to get myself the iPhone and she can have the dInc. I like the Android operating system, but I've become an Apple fan.
