Samsung Galaxy Tab Review: Best Android Tablet and True Rival to iPad?

By Alan Ng - Nov 2, 2010

As most of you will already be aware, all four major carriers in the US are preparing to release their version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the coming days and weeks. We have a detailed review for you to read now, which puts the Sprint version through it’s paces.

The review comes to you courtesy of Engadget, and you’ll be pleased to know that they have given the Samsung Galaxy Tab a positive 7/10 review, even going as far to say that it will definitely be the best Android tablet on the market when it becomes available.

The have praised the excellent quality of the 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, and although they had good words on the inclusion of front and back cameras, they mentioned that video call quality could have been a little better.

Engadget also claim that the Samsung Galaxy Tab is the ‘first, true competitor’ to the Apple iPad – which tells you how good they think this device actually is. Still though, we’re not too impressed with pricing for the device, but there is no doubt that this thing is going to fly off the shelves.

You can read their full review here, there are also some great hands-on pictures and videos for you to check out.

As I understand it, there is NO voice support in North America. That is a deal killer for me. I use the phone sparingly and see no reason why I would want this product and still have to carry a phone.

I'm sure it's 'could have' but i'm sure you knew that.
