Sony PlayStation Rewards: Your First Thoughts

By Peter Chubb - Oct 28, 2010

For those of you who live in Europe, then you will not be happy to learn that the new PlayStation Rewards program will be launched in the U.S. first; it seems as though Sony always gives Europeans a raw deal. However, let us not lose site of what this new program means to PS3 gamers, although it will be made available to those with a PSP in time.

The idea behind PlayStation Rewards is to give something back to gamers doing what they love best. The program is set to launch today and will be on an invitation-only beta to those who have signed up to PlayStation Plus and Gap – I bet that doesn’t go down well with other PSN users?

PlayStation Blog explains the details behind the new loyalty program, saying that you will be able to achieve exclusive status, rewards and recognition for continuing to use the PlayStation network. Other programs like this requires you to do certain things, but Sony do not want you to do anything, just keep on doing what you always do.

There are a number of rewards up for grabs, such as exclusive PSN avatars and dynamic themes, as well as the chance to win tickets to a number of events. This is just the start, but Sony aims to offer more as time goes by, lets just hope that PS3 users do not have to wait long before it is available to all.

If you have already started to use the Sony PlayStation Rewards, then please let us know your first thoughts?
