Dell Venue Pro: Android Version Confirmed

By Alan Ng - Oct 26, 2010

We have some good news for Android lovers who liked what they saw in the Windows Phone 7-equipped Dell Venue Pro smartphone, as it has been revealed that Dell are planning to launch an Android version of the device.

As reported from Phandroid, the news has surfaced from a PC World article, which claims that Dell will release a very similar-in-build handset to the one which they are preparing to launch with Windows Phone 7.

If the news is true, then you would like to think that this handset would most likely be running Google Android 2.2 Froyo at the least, but who knows, Dell might even surprise us with Android 2.3, which we now know is the next major version of Android.

If you haven’t seen the Dell Venue Pro, it looks reminiscent of a BlackBerry device, notably seen in the sliding mechanism on the Venue Pro, but the squared design and the stylist back casing of the Venue Pro make it stand out from the rest.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see this handset running Android OS?

I currently have the Dell Venue Pro and I LOVE the design of the phone and the keyboard. It is very sleek and looks nice. The design of the phone is excellent but I would definitely would prefer the Android version of the device. The customization of this phone is very limited and the app store(Market) is nowhere near as good as the Android market. I look forward to the release and I will trade in my Window Dell Venue Pro for an Android!
