Windows 8: Release Date Update – 2012

By Alan Ng - Oct 25, 2010

We have some important news to bring you now, as it has been reported that Microsoft has let slip that their next generation Windows OS will be available for release in around two years time.

As reported from Mashable, Microsoft posted a message on their Dutch blog website about Windows 8, confirming that it is already in development, but won’t be out until sometime in 2012.

Interestingly, one of the features already touted in Windows 8 is the inclusion of a Windows App store, similar to the one for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion which Apple announced at their Back to the Mac event last week.

At the moment though, it is early days of course as we’re sure Microsoft are working hard to ensure that Windows Phone 7 as well as their Kinect motion system for the Xbox 360 are successful on the market.

Let us know your thoughts on this. Are you waiting for Windows 8?

    Important, huh?

We need more specs of windows 8 other then it’s a 128bit OS to get excited about it’s impending release 2 years time..

network layer in win 7 is too complicated and not as flexible as win XP, i hope they can enhance that function.

Excellent wohh , its very useful for the upcoming generations , Gohead release as early as possible

Why coming out with new OS when 7 itself is a success. Like Cars. it is difficult for the people to switch to new OS since the cost is on the higher side. At least give 5 years time to swtich over or to come out with a new version. A request to Microsoft. When I have purchased VISTA after seeing the Adv. , THEY HAVE ALRELADY CAME OUT WITH wINDOWS 7 AS BETTER VERSION IT IS NOTHING BUT CHEATING.

I'm almost a Luddite; still using XP, doing fine with it, and it does what I need it to do. It's the PROGRAMS that work well that count, not the OS. Like lemmings to the cliffs, many will switch to Windows SuperDuperExtraordinarySplendiferous when it hits the market, and thank you very much to them for discovering all the bugs, Critical Updates and Service Packs. Once you're all done with that, I'll give it a look.
