Toshiba REGZA IS04 Specs: Camera Better Than Nokia N8

By Jamie Pert - Oct 18, 2010

Toshiba has recently unveiled an impressive new smartphone called the Toshiba REGZA IS04, this Android-based smartphone will apparently be coming to Japan, however the impressive specs may convince some people to perhaps import it.

A full spec breakdown has not yet been released, however we can confirm that it has a 4-inch display which supports a resolution of 854 x 480, a 12.19 megapixel autofocus camera, a microSDHC memory card slot and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

The 12.19 megapixel sensor is marginally better than the Nokia N8‘s, however it is evident that sometimes higher megapixel cameras don’t always produce the sharp images you expect, it will be interesting to see what is better.

In terms of connectivity you get WiFi b/g (no N), Bluetooth 2.1 and it will also connect to the new EVDO system, this will apparently give you 9.2Mbps downlinks and 5.5Mbps uplinks.

It is thought that this device will run Android 2.1 Eclair as standard when it arrives in January 2011, hopefully an update to Android 2.2 FroYo will arrive soon as otherwise I think this smartphone will find it hard to impact the market.

Will you consider buying the Toshiba REGZA IS04?
