Oscar Wilde iPhone and iPad Collection App

By Peter Chubb - Oct 16, 2010

Today Google celebrates the birthday of Oscar Wilde by way of a Google Doodle, so you can expect there to be a number of gatherings today where people will want to read his works. Thankfully you do not have to go to the store or library to get hold of these, as Apple’s iTunes App Store has the complete collection available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad.

There are two separate apps for this, the Oscar Wilde Collection for the iPhone works on the Touch very well but when downloaded to the iPad you have to remember that you have to zoom in – often making things a little less sharp.

There are 23 books on this app, all supporting all font sizes for the iPhone and Touch. For those bored with just plain black and white, then there are 70 different background and font colors to choose from. The app costs just $1.99 – more details from iTunes.

For those of you with an iPad, then you should pay the little extra and get the Oscar Wilde Collection specially designed for the tablet, that way you will get the best quality possible. This has the most complete works of the writer and poet. The cost of this app is $4.99 – get more information from iTunes.
