World of Warcraft: Patch 4.0.1 Could Drop This Week?

By Jamie Pert - Oct 11, 2010

We are currently one day away from the worst day of the week for WoW players. That dreaded Tuesday when realms go offline for maintenance and they have to resume their normal lives for an extended period of time, but this Tuesday could be one to look forward to as “extended maintenance” is on the cards which could point to that all impending patch day.

Cataclysm is only a month and half away (not that we’re counting or anything) and with the release getting closer it is only a matter of time before our current play styles will be somewhat dramatically changed for ever (until they change it again).

But what makes us think the patch is coming this Tuesday? Well we did a little bit of digging and found out that Rishgur, a Blizzard representitive made the announcement on the forums that maintenance would be extended from midnight until noon on October 12.

We will be performing extended maintenance on Tuesday, October 12th. Maintenance will begin at 12:00 AM PDT and conclude at approximately 12:00 PM PDT. During this time, all realms and many web services will be unavailable.

Thank you for your patience.

If it does not happen, then hey-ho, guess we’ll have to wait another week or so. But if it does, you can thank us later.
