Dell Streak: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – Download Beta Now

By Alan Ng - Oct 9, 2010

If you are a Dell Streak owner, prepared to get excited because we have details on how you can download a new Android 2.2 Froyo ROM on your device. It isn’t an official beta build, but appears to be working fine according to others who have tried it.

As reported from Android Community, a full tutorial giving instructions on how to download has been posted over at the Android @MoDaCo forums, courtesy of user Steven Hyde.

He has managed to get a new beta build of Froyo up and running on the device, but you’ll need to upgrade your baseband first if you want to try it out. This task may seem too much for the average Streak user, but for those who are unhappy with Android 1.6 or 2.1 on the device should really try this out.

The download links and instructions are over at the forum. Let us know how you get on and if it worked fine for you, so our other readers can give it a shot.

Just did it and the Streak is just like another machine now! Soooo Fassstttt. Congrats to Steve on this awesome build… Dell is definitely producing great hardware but software support is just horrible.
