Verizon iPhone Release Date: What Month?

By Peter Chubb - Oct 7, 2010

Are we getting closer to a Verizon iPhone release date, or is this all just more hype about something that we all want but will never get? It is no secret that Big Red and AT&T users want a CDMA version of the iPhone, but they have wanted the same thing since the original model back in 2007.

The reason why I ask this is because the rumors seemed to have shifted up a gear over the past couple of days, all spurred on by a recent WSJ article that Alan Ng covered in a previous post. The article suggests a Verizon iPhone will be released in the first quarter of 2011.

This now leads me to my previous post asking if this latest piece of news is actually true? We have heard so many of these rumors, I just have a hard time believing them.

So this takes me to my poll that I have added below. The first month that I have suggested is January, the reason why I ask if you think that this is the month that Verizon will launch the iPhone is simple, this is the date that WSJ first said way back in June.

My second month is June; this is the month that Apple usually releases the iPhone. As for July and August, I just assumed that Apple and Verizon could take this long to prepare things after a June announcement.

Finally I suggested September, I assumed that maybe Steve Jobs would release this during their annual iPod Touch Event. These are just a few suggestions; let us know your thoughts on this.
