LG Optimus S: Release Date, Specs and Price on Sprint

We have some good news for those of you who have been keeping a close eye on the LG Optimus S, as Sprint has just announced the handset, along with a solid release date, specs and pricing information.

It is not often we get the full details on a handset straight away with an announcement, but that is exactly what has happened with the LG Optimus S.

It is an Android 2.2-based handset and will be available to buy from Sprint on October 31, priced at $49.99 on-contract after a $100 mail-in rebate, we’re not sure on the full retail price yet.

Specs include a 3.2-inch capacitive display, Sprint ID, a 3.2 megapixel camera, visual voicemail, GPS and WiFi with added hotspot support. It will also come packed with a 1500 mAh battery and expandable memory via MicroSD.
