Motorola Citrus Slow Compared to Droid Pro

By Peter Chubb - Oct 6, 2010

The Motorola Droid Pro has certainly taken all the attention, but let us not forget about the Citrus. Yes, this maybe much slower compared to the Pro – but we believe it to be a superb entry-level device. Both handsets made their debut during the Motorola CTIA event.

First things first, we have to point out that although the Motorola Citrus is a new handset it will only come with Android 2.1. We believe that its poor performing 524MHz processor will not be able to handle the extra performance requirements of Google Android 2.2.

Sean Hollister from Engadget was at the event and saw these shortcomings for himself, saying that the resolution on its 3-inch touchscreen was very low indeed. It does seem that there is a number of things going against the Citrus.

However, what Hollister did like was how comfortable it was to hold. Motorola will now have to work with the carrier to make certain that they do not price the handset out of the market – they do not want a Microsoft Kin on their hands.
