CTIA 2010: Droid Pro Hands-on Video and Specs

By Alan Ng - Oct 6, 2010

We have some good news for those of you looking for further information on the recently announced Motorola Droid Pro handset, as we now have a hands-on video for you to take a look at, as well as some more confirmed specs of the device.

As reported from Intomobile, we previously told you how the Android 2.2 equipped Droid Pro will come with a 5 megapixel camera and a 1Ghz processor amongst other things, but now we have a few more confirmed specs from Motorola.

They include the addition of dual LED flash for the auto-focus 5MP camera, Adobe Flash 10.1, a confirmed 1GHz OMAP 3620 processor with a MDM6600 chipset, 2GB of internal memory (expand via MicroSD), tri-band UTMS, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G mobile hotspot support.

Intomobile were at the Motorola CTIA event and managed to capture a lovely high-quality video showing the new device in all it’s glory. While the handset looks pretty slick, I still can’t get used to that BlackBerry-style keyboard, in fact I think it looks rather ugly – do you agree?

Take a look at the video below and let us know your first impressions of the handset.

It's all about style and real estate to view. Once you own an Evo why would you ever want less screen space? There is no need for a keyboard as the on-board keyboard actually is larger than the one offered on this phone. What's up with only 5 MP regarding the camera? It should at least be 8 MP. What does this phone do that an Evo won't? It's not even 4G. Since Verizon is rolling out their faster network in the next 3 – 6 months I believe I would sit this one out and wait on the better phones that will work on their new high speed network. Why buy a phone that will restrict your speed and be stuck with it for 2 years?
