T-Mobile G2 Root: Download Links and How-To Guide

By Alan Ng - Oct 4, 2010

The T-Mobile G2 has only just hit the market, but now we can confirm that the handset has been successfully rooted. We have the download links and a full tutorial guide for those that are interested.

As reported from Phandroid, it will be no surprise to hear that the root has been accomplished by members of the XDA-Developers Forums.

While the root has been confirmed to be working, it has been tagged as a ‘temporary root’, since there is one major problem after completing the problem – you can’t reboot your G2. If you do, you’ll find out that the root method has disappeared, so for now, just don’t reboot.

It is not really a serious problem though, as this is very likely to be sorted pretty soon. If you are interested in rooting your T-Mobile G2, you can find download links and instructions here.

Now, even Clockwork Recovery mode is available via the latest version of ROM Manager — a must have app if you wanna play with custom ROMs.

It simply lets you backup your existing ROM fully, in case you need some missing parts later or undone the damage done by a custom ROM.
