New Seventh Generation VW Passat Images Released

By Daniel Chubb - Oct 4, 2010

Volkswagen’s Passat is set for a seventh generation upgrade in November, the new model will be essentially just a restyling exercise. Externally the Passat will offer its vital stats as 4.77 metres in length, 1.82 metres in width and a height of 1.47 metres (1.52 Variant). A few tweaks will adorn the exterior along with new LED lighting.

Engine wise the range will stay essentially the same with four petrol and three diesel options, these will consist of: 1.4,1.8 and 2.0 TSI with a 300bhp 3.6-litre V6 heading the petrols. Diesels will offer: 1.6 TDI with Bluemotion technology to reduce the fuel consumption, and 2.0 TDI units providing 140 or 170bhp.

It will be the options list that will see the biggest changes with the introduction of, Dynamic Light Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist to go with emergency braking and active cruise control. The latter two working in partnership when speeds are less than 30km/hr. Also available to tick from the options will be Volkswagens XDS electronic differential.

Expect to see the next gen Passat rolling out of the showrooms from January 2011. Head over to Autocar for more pictures of the new model.
