Dead Rising 2 (PC): msvcr100.dll Error Fix

If you have brought the PC version of Dead Rising 2 you are probably happily enjoying the game, however some gamers are experiencing a frustrating error message relating to a missing file.

The missing file is msvcr100.dll, to fix this problem you must download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package, the download is just 4.8MB in size and can be found here.

To install this package you need to be running Windows XP Home/Professional SP3, Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7, if you need the latest service pack check out this page and choose your operating system version.

    Just bought Dead Rising 2, but the disc can't even be read on the computer. The Computer can read other DVD disc's, so it shouldn't be somthing wrong with the disc reader. The wierd thing is that on another computer the disc can be read.. :s but I wan't to play it on the other comp. Does someone have any idea? Something blocking? Please post back

    I installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package but the same thing happens the screen goes black and a message comes up "Dead Risng 2 is out of order" i also reinstall the game what should i do?

    I've installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package and after a few seconds, there is black screen and a message "Dead Risng 2 is out of order" or something like that. What should i do?

    Update Direct X, Graphics drivers, visual C++, phys X. Reinstall if necessary. These are mostly common problems related with PC games.

    I having some problems. The game works great, but for some reasons a lot of spots like lamps, black colors things and others during the gameplay, have a lot of red points, i dont know what is it and why it happen. Can someone please tell me why? Little red points all together.

  • You might also want to consider adding the link to the 64-bit version of the C++ package. The majority of Win7 machines I come across nowadays are 64-bit.

    BE CAREFUL on downloading single .dll files from certain websites. VIRUS CITY.

    That may work for some, but what fixed the problem for me, after trying the same solution you listed, was simply downloading msvcr100.dll (you can find it with a simple google search) and putting it in my game directory.

      Simple fix, if you are running a new ATI/AMD card, simply get the newest version of the Catalyst Control Center from their website. It will have everything needed to get your card running fine.
