Verizon iPhone 4: AT&T Not Worried about Mass Walkout

We have an interesting article for you to read now, as AT&T Chief Executive Randall Stephenson has stated that they are not worried about the company losing it’s exclusivity deal with Apple for the iPhone 4.

As reported from Apple Insider, the news comes straight after a study by Credit Suisse which revealed that 23% percent of AT&T customers would leave if the iPhone 4 were to release on Verizon Wireless – which is looking increasingly likely.

Randall Stephenson admitted that the iPhone 4 contributes to a large portion of their overall sales, but added that most customers won’t leave since they are locked into long term agreements with the carrier.

While it is true that consumers would prefer Verizon over AT&T for the iPhone 4, how many would be willing to ‘pay off’ their contract in order to do so – this would surely be too expensive for the average smartphone user.

Stephenson added: “If you look at the iPhone base, about 80 percent is either on a family-talk plan or in a business relationship with us. Those customers tend to be very sticky. They don’t churn very quickly.”

What are your thoughts on this? We still don’t know the exact date when AT&T’s exclusivity deal will run out, and it looks like the carrier are in no rush to disclose the information either.

Are you planning to leave AT&T?

apple is a big a hole in telling people information ahead of time. I need a phone now. And would buy a shitty flip phone to get me till it came out if they would confirm it coming out, now that they are leaving us hanging a droid phone will be bought instead. apple is fuckin up with this one only for stock jump and will lose in the actual sales because of it.

I am an ATT business customer with a discount and my service has been horrible since day one. I will walk the day they announce the Verizon the Iphone!!! As far as paying the early termination fee, its worth every penny for a phone / data service that works!

I have been a AT & T customer for 7 yrs, I started with a Razr and then went to the Iphone. I get a corporate discount through work, and am on a Family plan. I have never had a complaint about AT&T over the past 7 yrs, and was a Sprint customer for 4 years prior. The 4 years I was with Sprint was a Nightmare, I wouldnt switch from ATT if someone handed me cash to do so, they have treated me like gold for 7 yrs and solve every problem I have ever called with to where sprint stuck me with the problem!
