Samsung Galaxy Tab: Pre-Order Android-Based Tablet on Amazon

By Peter Chubb - Sep 20, 2010

Those of you in the UK will know that the Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone was launched in the UK long before it was in the U.S., so it comes as no surprise that this is also the case with the Galaxy Tab. While visiting Amazon UK we learned that you can now pre-order the Android tablet device.

The online retail giant describes the tablet device as the Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab, and those who wish to pre-order it can do so for £679.99 – a saving of £120. Amazon states that the item will be released on November 1st.

We had assumed that the tab would be released in the UK in October and later in the year for the U.S. market. Either way this is perfect timing for Samsung, as it is the start-up to the build-up to the holiday season.

We now know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be available on not one but three U.S. carriers, Sprint will not offer a 4G version as they do with the Galaxy S Epic 4G smartphone.
