PS3 Firmware Update v3.50: More Features Revealed before Release

By Alan Ng - Sep 17, 2010

A few days ago we revealed that Sony would be dropping PS3 Firmware Update v3.50 on Tuesday 21st September and that it would mainly add support for 3D Blu-Ray movies. You’ll be pleased to know that we have found out a few extra features that will also be coming in the update.

As reported from ConnectedConsoles, some details on the Japanese Playstation website has revealed that 3.50 will also add the ability to report XMB messages to Sony. This will be welcomed I’m sure by those of you who often receive spam in your mailbox – ”Send this to 50 other people for the xxx beta to start”, and similar types of rubbish.

Furthermore, v3.50 will also bring added Facebook connectivity, as you’ll now be able to post status updates on your Facebook wall, letting your friends know what PS3 game you are currently playing.

Hopefully there will be more features to come in 3.50, but that’s all we have at the moment. Let us know if you have anything to share on this.
