PS3 Jailbreak: Dealers Send Out Warning Email To PS Jailbreak Customers

By Jamie Pert - Aug 24, 2010

PS3 owners who have recently ordered PS Jailbreak have been sent a letter of warning from the dealers suggesting that they recommend staying on firmware v3.41 until further notice — otherwise their warranty would be voided and maybe even banned.

The news comes as Sony have been made widely aware of the hack that allows homebrew applications and the ability to play games stored on users hard drives.

Talk of a new firmware from Sony has already suggested that they would implement a fix that would disable the USB device altogether, and could also potentially ban users who are using it when they update.

But PS Jailbreak do not want to go down easily as the dealers have emailed customers who have purchased the USB device that states : –

“While the PS Jailbreak team have told us it should be possible to support future firmware versions on the PS3, it’s is not guaranteed, they will need to access any newer firmware’s than 3.41 and if needed release an update for the PS Jailbreak to support the newer firmware’s.”

So who knows what is going to happen. From what I can gather, PS Jailbreak are ready to take Sony on at their own game.

Although I don’t recommend the device, as it is technically illegal, customers who already have the jailbreaking device are urged to check the PS Jailbreak website for compatibility updates and only update when it is safe to do so.

If you already have one on pre-order, I would suggest that you reconsider your options. This could get a little messy.
