Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: Biggest Selling Game In UK History

By Jamie Pert - Aug 23, 2010

We all know how popular COD Modern Warfare 2 is, but it has officially been named as the best-selling game in UK history, beating the previous holder Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training.

According to stats and figures from Gfk Chart-Track, MW2 only took 41 weeks to overtake Brain Training, where as the Nintendo title took 32 months to overtake previous holder GTA: San Andreas.

COD MW2 has been dogged with controversy since its release. Glitches, mods, hacks and cracks have appeared all over the internet for all platforms, and some even turned their noses up when you play the part of an undercover agent taking part in a ‘terrorist’ airport massacre.

But as we can see, head shots, multiplayer action and controversy are the formula to making a great and popular game. Wonder why Medal of Honor is following the same path then? Should MOH be banned?

in MW2 we played as what was essentually the talaiban, it was never publicly announced, but we all knew. the map named afgan kinda gave that away. this is no different. good guys vs bad guys. all games have them. wheather they be taliban, russion, arab, german, japanese. at the end of the day a game is just a game. playing as the talaibsn dosnt mean that we dont support the UK forces, its just what the game requires us to do.

if Mr fox dosnt like it, then my advise to him is dont by the game!
