An ex-flight attendant who famously quit his job after yelling over the public address system has become a celebrity over night as more than 100,000 people have joined his Facebook page to support him, and has also landed his own reality TV show.
Steven Slater, who quit his job with former employee jetBlue by addressing passengers aboard the Pittsburgh to New York flight after an alleged altercation with an unnamed female passenger, then went on to use the public address system and yelled ‘To the f***** who told me to f*** off, it’s been a good 20 years – I’m off!’ Slater then picked up a beer from the galley and then used the plane’s evacuation slide to make a dramatic, but stylish exit.
This started a surge of followers who joined his Facebook page to also admit they too dreamed of quitting their job in such style. The Facebook page now has over 100,000 followers who support his actions.
Although the officials are questioning his actions, a TV company called Stone and Company Entertainment wants the ex-flight attendant to host a show that showcases other disgruntled workers who quit their jobs in extravagant ways.
Slater is currently out on bail, and is pondering his next move.
