This year seems to have been dominated by news of high-end smartphones and upcoming tablets, Samsung has already released their popular and impressive Galaxy S smartphone, now it looks as if a tablet release isn’t too far away.
This news was revealed in a screen from Vodafone UK’s inventory system, if you check out this image you can clearly see “Samsung Galaxy Tablet Contract”, there has been no official word from the carrier, however this evidence seems solid enough.
There are plenty of specification rumors circulating, apparently we should expect a device similar to the Galaxy S, however there will be a 7-inch display supporting a resolution of 800×480, as for the processor it should feature the same 1GHz chip as the Galaxy S.
Other rumors suggest that it will come with Android 2.2 FroYo, a 3.2 megapixel camera on the rear, a low resolution front-facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, Swype, Flash support and GPS.
It is thought that Samsung will officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy S tablet in around three weeks time, by then we should have a better idea of what to expect.
