Motorola Droid X: Recovery Mode – How To Access Guide

By Alan Ng - Jul 22, 2010

For those of you who are having trouble accessing the recovery mode on your Motorola Droid X handset, we have a how to guide to show you now, which could come in useful when the handset has been rooted.

As reported from Phandroid, the guide has come to us courtesy of Droid-Life. It actually isn’t that difficult to access, but obviously it is a pain if you don’t know how.

The first step is to turn off your phone. Once you have done that, hold down ‘Home’ and press ‘Power’ until the Motorola boot animation appears. After that, release ‘Power’ and keep pressing ‘Home’ until you see an exclamation mark appear.

Once you see it, release ‘home’ and press the ‘Search’ button once. If all goes well, your Droid X should now enter recovery mode. When you are done playing around within, press the ‘reboot’ system now’ with the volume key and press the camera button to return to your normal homescreen.

Let us know if the guide helped you. Have fun!

UPDATE: The Droid X has been successfully rooted! Full details of that here.
