Windows 8: Plans For Next Microsoft OS Leaked – Screenshots

Over the past 24 hours, the plans for Microsoft’s next OS – Windows 8 – have been leaked on the internet, and in what seems an ‘Apple’ trait, the next aim for Microsoft and the Windows 8 project would be to make it “just work.”

Although this should have been the aim from the get-go, Windows users are still dubious to transition from Windows XP to the latest OS in Microsoft’s arsenal – Windows 7.

Windows 7 is still currently the fastest selling operating system of all time. According to numerous figures around the web, 7 copies of Windows 7 are being sold every second. That is surely one pro Microsoft can take from the OS war between Windows and Apple OS.

With Windows 8 planned for release in 2012, just two years from now, one might question the success of Windows 7 going downhill. From a business point of view, is there any clear reason they should upgrade from XP/Vista to Windows 7 now? Especially when Windows 8 is currently in the works?

According to reports, Windows 8 will have an even faster start up time, a better GUI, a visual login screen, support USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0, and also come with Microsoft Kinect compatibility.

But one other interesting feature we would love to know more about is the use of Kinect, where you can use it for ‘user-recognition’.

Be gone will be the days of passwords, and the future of logging in to your PC will require you to have your face scanned. Saying that, fingerprint technology never really took off did it?

You can see all the screenshots of the plans for Windows 8 on the source page below.
