Scope Mouthwash Recall: Poison Hazard and Faulty Caps

It has been confirmed that Scope Mouthwash products, made by Proctor and Gamble have been recalled due to an issue regarding the child resistant cap on the top of the bottle.

As reported from Examiner, the recall affects the 1 litre size of Scope Mouthwash and 35,000 bottles have now been recalled by the company. The product is thought to be available to buy with malfunctioning caps, and also fails to state that the product is harmful to young children.

This is particularly important since the mouthwash contains ethyl alcohol which could be fatal to young children if swallowed.

If you own the mouthwash, you are advised to either contact Proctor and Gamble for a replacement or refund, or either continuing using the product whilst keeping it out of children’s reach.
