iPhone 4 Sold Out: Apple and AT&T

By Peter Chubb - Jun 16, 2010

Yesterday was a day to forget for both AT&T and Apple as both had their problems with the new iPhone 4 pre-order. We mentioned in a recent post that the Apple Store was either running slow or went down minutes after they had updated their website.

Today we hear that the iPhone 4 is sold out with both Apple and AT&T, which will be worse for those that were stopped by the Apple Store ordering system going down. Even a phone call to Apple customer services would not help, because the staff use the same website but with a different login.

PC World report that taking a trip to a store was no better, but this is understandable as they use the same ordering system. Engadget also confirmed that AT&T had sold out of the new iPhone 4, which was at around 1:30 p.m. PDT Yesterday.

If you still want to pre-order the iPhone 4, you can do so but expect shipping July 2 onwards. Those that managed to pre-order will be keeping their fingers crossed that the existing June 24 date does not change.

Were you disappointed with how Apple and AT&T performed moments after iPhone 4 pre-orders were available? Did you manage to get a pre-order in before they sold out? Let us know in the comments.
