We have some news for BlackBerry enthusiasts now, and with what was touted as the ‘Talladega’ a small while ago, it seems that RIM have a new name for it’s BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider called the ‘Torch’.
According to an article over at IntoMobile, they say that the name has not been officially confirmed, but is being “seriously considered.”
This could mean a number of things, mainly that the BlackBerry Slider could start a whole new fresh family of phones, especially being one of the first phones to roll out the new OS 6 from RIM, with the 9670 clamshell also in the frame to come with the OS.
The only setback in renaming something like the Bold Slider to Torch, would mean that users would find it hard to keep up with all the different styles available on RIM’s market, and would add to that of the Curve, Pearl, Bold and Storm. Confusing things more.
Although BlackBerry Torch does sound kind of promising, we would like things to be kept simple, as it can sometimes be hard to differentiate one BlackBerry to another.
What do you think of the potential new name?
