Motorola Droid X: iPhone and HTC EVO 4G Size Comparison

For those of you who have been keeping a close eye on the Motorola Droid X, you should know that the handset is fairly a large one, but how does it compare with other smartphones on the market?

As reported from BGR, we have found a new image for you to take a look at now, which shows the upcoming Droid X side by side with the mighty iPhone 3G and HTC EVO 4G.

We all thought the EVO was hefty in size, but as you can see from the picture – the Droid X, soon to arrive on Verizon is slightly larger in size. The picture has surfaced from the good guys over at the Android Forums and it also gives us another look at the updated ShadowBLUR interface.

Is it too big though? For me, I have to say that it is. It seems like this phone will create a big lump in your pocket whenever you are carrying it around – I’m not sure I like the idea of that.

Maybe you feel differently.

  • I am one of these individuals that puts their entire life on their own cell phone so I got a Centro way back when and loved it- so personalized (color coding things such as calendar appointments is a MUST for me) and effortless to use. The Pre came out and I was loving it… but… well… it just lacked some ‘me’ things. So, when I saw all that Android could do…. well I was very thrilled. I was blessed to have found 1 cell phone left in stock at a Radio Shack 40 miles away last weekend and I’ve been enjoying and customizing ever since.

It's really not that much bigger. Either phone will pretty much be a big lump in your pocket.

  • This looks way way better than the leaks. As it's now already previewed. And yep, the official name would be Droid X! and expect it on mid of July! Motorola Droid X confirmed Updates

  • This bad boy has a TI OMAP 3630 w/ PowerVR SGX530… no wonder its so fast!! I’m liking the nice screen. Wish it was Super AMOLED, though.

  • Sam

I compared my iphone 3gs to a friends new HTC EVO. The screen is substantially larger, but the phone itself is maybe 3/8" longer than the iphone. Big deal.

Some have thought that the Evo was too large. Now that I have an evo, I cannot fathoma smaller phone. I think tricks is more important than height and width.

  • Justin

I think the Droid's slim body style will compensate for how big it is in your pocket, plus it'll probably be a bit easier on my already poor eyes; it does seem almost silly to have a phone that big i guess…

  • Joeh

its not that much bigger than an iphone with a case on it…I guess we will have to wait and see.

    • phinn

Uh yea they did a nice job with that putting a giant ugly white case on the iPhone which is clearly a lot smaller than the Droid X. You need a suitcase to carry the Droid around.
