Motorola Droid X: Verizon’s Final Name and Specs

We have yet more twists and turns on the Motorola Droid Xtreme handset now, as some new details have emerged – leading to the possibility that the handset could be named as the Droid X.

As reported from Phandroid, this will be the third different name that the handset has been associated with, after the Motorola Shadow, Droid Xtreme and now just Droid ‘X’.

Thats not all either, we have a list of confirmed specs so far for the device. These include a 4.3-inch display with 854×480 resolution, a OMAP 3630 with PowerVR SGX530 GPU, 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, HD Video Recording (720p), front-facing camera (Video calling??), HDMI-out and Android 2.1 OS.

As you can see from above, we are not sure about memory capabilities for the handset yet, but we’ll let you know soon as we hear more.

What are your thoughts on the name – do you like Droid X or not?

I am about to receive the Droid Incredible in the mail. Should I trade it in for the Droid X? Can anyone compare any specs for me? I suppose no one knows the price. Also anyone know the release date? I think I will have 30 days to decide.

Well, I say this is a nice looking phone although I'm not a fan of BLUR. Hopefully they will give choices for buyers. Droid II Detailed Reactions

Definately going to keep an eye on this one. Front facing camera? Are you serious? Video chat would be pretty cool. can't wait to see final specs so can make my determination.

  • Angus

'Droid X Shadow' it will be to me. Hi Shadow! How's it going?….

  • Steve

I think that they should call it the Droid 2. The handset currently called the Droid 2 is no 2.0 level improvement, just an overclocked Droid using parts they can actually get, to meet the demand.

  • Skeptic

Doesnt matter to me what the name is as long as it hurry up and comes out!
