Free Google Maps Navigation: Comes To Canada and Europe

It has been announced that Google has released Maps Navigation in eleven new countries, as well as adding French, German, Italian, and Spanish languages to its Search by Voice feature.Google eventually hope to have this feature available in all languages.

Mikael Ricknäs of is reporting that users with an Android 1.6 or higher smartphone can download Google Maps Navigation and get turn-by-turn voice guidance. Until this latest release the voice guidance only worked in the U.S. and UK.

The eleven new countries to get the free service are Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. The free turn-by-turn voice guidance was first released in October of last year.

Owners of the BlackBerry, Nokia S60 and iPhone can also get the search by Voice feature.
