2011 Harley-Davidson XR1200X: U.S. Specs and Price

By Peter Chubb - Jun 4, 2010

The 2011 Harley-Davidson XR1200X has only been available in Europe, but the U.S. will finally be able to get their hands on this Sportster motorcycle. We do not understand why a pure North American brand was not available to them first? The price will be $11,799, but for that you get a 1200cc fuel-injected V-twin engine that is air cooled, this gives you 74 pound-feet of torque.

The 2011 Harley-Davidson XR1200X is made to soak up the road, this is all thanks to its Big Piston front forks, which adjust on the rebound. These work perfectly in conjunction with the rear Showa shocks.

The height of the seat is 29.2-inches, just imagine sitting on that seat with your hands placed firmly on those track-style handlebars – not like your traditional Hog, but we are certain that this bike will have some fans. Maybe it was due to the strange styling why the 2011 XR1200X was available in Europe first?

The motorcycle comes in just two colors, black or white – so not much in the way of choice. To help the 2011 Harley-Davidson XR1200X stand out just a little more there is an orange stripe on the wheels and rear springs. For more details and images read Jeremy Korzeniewski’s article on Autoblog
