Social Media Marketing: Facebook – Advertisers Quadruple Since 2009

The worlds largest and most popular social networking website has undergone a lot of changes over the past few months, this is mainly due to some of the bad press it has been receiving for numerous reasons. Privacy settings, Quit Facebook day, the banning of the website in Pakistan. The list goes on, but this has not stopped advertisers using Facebook’s vast popularity to advertise their products and services.

The social networking giant has revealed that the amount of advertisers it has obtained since the start of 2009 has more than quadrupled, and with Facebook’s amount of dedicated users up to around 520 million, the number of advertisers keep coming in.

With Procter & Gamble Co., Toys “R” Us Inc., Virgin America Inc., Adidas, Yahoo!, Microsoft and plenty of other big hitters using the social networking website placing their ads to appear next to profiles and posts depending on the user and their social habits.

And also, with Facebook now becoming the official most visited website taking over longtime leader Google Inc, it seems that Facebook would be the prime place to showcase your advertisements.
