Motorola Droid vs Droid Xtreme: Specs and Processors Compared

By Jamie Pert - Jun 2, 2010

Recently we revealed a couple of leaked photos of the Motorola Droid Xtreme, we are now beginning to hear news regarding the Droid successor’s specifications, and things look pretty promising.

The original Motorola Droid featured an Arm Cortex A8 600 MHz processor which was underclocked to 550 MHz, however we are hearing that the Droid Xtreme will feature a OMAP3630 processor running at 700MHz, I must state that this is currently an unconfirmed rumor.

Other specs are looking pretty promising, a Droid-Life tipster has suggested that it will infact run Google Android 2.2 FroYo (which is surprising considering our recent post) and will feature 9 home screens, however there will be no use of Motorola’s popular Motoblur UI.

There is still a lot of speculation regarding the Droid successors name, so far there are three favorite choices, these are the Motorola Droid X, Motorola Droid Xtreme and Motorola Shadow. Which name is your favorite?

As we hear confirmation regarding any Motorola Droid X/Xtreme/Shadow news we will keep you posted, until then we will keep you up-to-date with all of the speculation surrounding the handset.

I'd go with Droid X or Droid Shadow but definitely not Droid Xtreme. This is not a sporting goods merchandise please steer clear of that name Motorola.
